Everything we do starts here – from the kit to the campaigns. The North East is where we’ve been ever since Gordon and Peter founded Berghaus in 1966.Here, being at home in the outdoors is a way of life.

Our founders

Gordon Davison was an engineer – analytical, inventive and technically-minded. Peter Lockey was a marketeer – intuitive, creative and playful. They’re the two sides of Berghaus. The left brain and the right brain.
They loved climbing mountains together, and wanted to get more people outdoors. This simple idea blossomed into a business. The rest is history.Today, in the spirit of our founders, we’re still doing exactly what they set out to do.
